I am at a wall for my Ancestor, 3rd great-grandfather, Charles B. REYNOLDS b. 1813-14 NY, d. 1903 Monroe County, WI. Married to Catherine Spangler. His birth is documented in census as NY, with father sometimes NY, and sometimes English Canada. Suspect location of birth MAY have been part of Canada, but later became NY, or vice versa. I find no reliable documentation to reveal family arrival to America. Many similar names, with many incorrect trees in existence out there. Looking for father and mother of Charles B. REYNOLDS, and any potential lineage to continue further research of this line.

His son, 2nd geat-grandfatherr, William Simpson "Sim" REYNOLDS is well documented b.1841 PA, d.1908 Tomah, WI; m. Mariah CARTER. Civil War veteran. Company I PA Calvary; imprsoned 7 months, discharged Petersburg Oct 1884.

Thank you!

Still looking for definite information that John Harmon Obarr was the father of my grandfather, John Henry O'Bear. John Henry was born in 1881 and died in 1960.He was born in Lake City, Arkansas and later moved to Illinois. He married Rhoda Evelyn Rice in 1903. Someone in the Reynolds family posted that John Henry was the son of John Harmon Obarr. I am just trying to determine the facts concerning my Grandfather's parentage. Any hard evidence would be most appreciated. Who posted the information on the Reynolds Family page?

Monroe County, Michigan Reynolds

I've been doing genealogy for about 40 years and have been a member of the Reynolds Family Organization for several of those.
My Reynolds line starts with my paternal 2nd Great Grandmother, Harriet Amanda Reynolds (1805-1900) born in New York and died in Toledo, Lucas, Ohio. She was the wife of Elisha Hayden, who she married in 1925.
Harriet's father was Joseph Reynolds (1781-1850) who was born in Seneca County, New York and died in Reading, Hillsdale, Michigan.
Joseph's father was Thomas Reynolds (1753-1845) born in West Greenwich Village, Rhode Island and died in Sodus Center, Wayne, New York.
I have quite a bit of information on these folks, however am always interested in gathering more and sharing with others what I have. What I'm really anxious to get is data from bibles, diaries, etc. that are not always available on the net.
By the way, my birthday is June 16, 1937.
Thanks for any help you or other members can give.
Jim Kimble, Holland, Lucas, Ohio.

Do you have any documentation regarding Nancy Harrison Reynolds' father's family. I have researched via the Edgefield historical society, ancestry, and other sources to determine lineage of James Harrison- Nancy's father. If you have any information or suggested resources re allied families I would greatly appreciate it. My goal is to determine James Harrison's father. I have questioned if the Harrison's and Reynolds migrated together from VA.

I am looking for the parents of Hezekiah Reynolds, Sr., born in what is now Watertown, CT on July 4, 1756 (at that time, it was the parish of Westbury), both suburbs of Waterbury. He was listed in Conn. Rev. War Records for 1776 in Roxbury, CT. He married Martha Davenport Wolcott, part of a well-known CT family, in 1778 in North Branford, CT, and he died in 1833 and is buried next to her and other members of their family in Wallingford, CT. They had nine children and the house he built for them in North Branford is currently the home for the local historical society. The various local historical societies have no records of his parents.

Notably, he was the author of "Directions for House and Ship Painting; shewing in a plain and concise manner, the best method of preparing, mixing and laying the best colours now in use, designed for use of learners", New Haven, printed by Eli Hudson, 1812. This is one of the early books written by an American artisan explaining their craft.
