QUERY: I am a long time member of the association; Line 30. In going through documents, I found a notice of indenture that had been given to my husband years ago. It is not our line; I would like to get it to the proper person. It is original; dated 1799, and concerns William Reynolds, son of Thomas Reynolds, county of Newport in the state of Rhode Island. Would appreciate a contact back from someone. Thanks.

QUERY: My 3 x great-grandfather was James Reynolds, b. 1803 (supposed to be in Culpeper, VA) and died July 1861 (This part is for sure) at the Battle of Scary Creek, Barboursville, WV. At that time the family was living in Cabell County, VA (WV). Many trees have his father listed as a James Madison Reynolds b. abt. 1778 in Richmond, VA and dying in October 1860 in Northampton, VA. Geographically speaking, I'm not sure that makes sense but could be possible. If you have any information about this family, I would greatly appreciate it. It has been one of my brick walls for a long time. Thank you.

QUERY: I have just joined this group, so please forgive my fairly recent ancestry query: I have been unable to follow my Reynolds family any farther back than 1821. William Reynolds (abt 1821-1885) was born in PA, presumably married Sarah Miller in PA, and had the following children before moving to Ohio: Martha 1843; Nathaniel 1845; Alfred 1847; John 1848; Sammuel 1850; James 1852; Lamena 1853; Henry or Wm Henry 1856. In 1857, the family moved to Milton Township Ohio and had their daughter Elizabeth (and maybe Sophia Brien) I have no idea about William Reynolds' parents or siblings. I have seen suggestions of a Joseph and John Reynolds who settled in the US in 1725, but I am at a wall as to where my William Reynolds originated. William Reynolds, B: abt 1821 (PA) D: 1885 (Hocking County, Ohio) Any leads are appreciated, particularly those in PA. Thanks, Diane

QUERY: I am looking for any information about Sarah Reynolds 1790-1876, daughter of Nathaniel (1754) and Hannah (Todd Cooley).
Sarah is listed as being married and "reared one son, Morris B. Reynolds (1809 -1882), who lived and d. in Brooklyn" in Marion H. Reynolds History and Descendents of John and Sarah Reynolds (1630?-1923).
Morris' father is a Joseph as stated on Morris' NY marriage certificate of 1880 to Jennie C. Baldwin. I am specifically looking for any info on who Joseph Reynolds is who married Sarah Reynolds. I have hit a brick wall. Thank you.

QUERY: Joseph Reynolds, my 5th great grandfather (July 9, 1749 - December 25, 1823) served in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. This is according to information I have, attributed to documents from the 39th and 40th (1930 and 1931) Reynolds Family Association. My information says that Joseph Reynolds was in the 4th Regiment, Albany County, New York Militia. However, I've only been able to find internet documentation of a Joseph Reynolds in the 2nd Regiment, New York. I'm trying to determine if my ancestor was actually in the 2nd Regiment and not the 4th Regiment. Thanks in advance for your assistance!

QUERY: I am interested in contacting the administrator of line 045, Joseph Chatten Reynolds. Are they sure of the middle name? That name has been repeated before in the descendants of Richard Spencer Reynoldsn(d GA 1788). The middle name comes from Anne Chattin, wife of George Doggett, the parents of Richard's wife, Sarah Ann Doggett. One of his grandsons, my ancestor was also named Joseph Chatten Reynolds, Jr. - he was born in Georgia in 1793 and died in Muhlenberg County Kentucky in 1868. Both the Chatten name and the Doggett name were passed down in the family. Although the proof is circumstantial, it's substantial.

Please contact me as I am working with other descendants to trace the sons of Richard Spencer Reynolds when they left Georgia at the beginning of the 19th century.
