NAME: John Garmon Reynolds

SURNAMES: REYNOLDS
QUERY: I am able to trace my father's line (Reynolds) back to a Nathaniel Reynolds born circa 1805, somewhere in Virginia. I wonder if he was a descendant of the Captain Nathaniel Reynolds listed on your site? Cpt. Reynolds came to America with his father, Robert, in about 1630. Any help would be much appreciated.

SURNAMES: WHITLOCK, REYNOLDS
QUERY: My g-g-g-grandfather was Lancelot "Lot" Whitlock. The 1850 census says that he was born in Georgia, but I only find him in Union County South Carolina where he was during the war of 1812. I had a DNA test done by a male direct descendent and most of the matches are to the Reynolds/Runnells family. He named his first son Dudley Runnels Whitlock and I am wondering if Lot may have been a Reynolds who was adopted into the Whitlock family. This has been my brick wall for almost 30 years and any help would be appreciated.

SURNAMES: REYNOLDS & STARBUCK
QUERY: I am looking for descendants of Humphrey REYNOLDS (b abt 1580, bur 1 Jul 1632 Cropwell Bishop, Nottinghamshire, England). Humphrey had 7 known children, 6 of whom lived to adulthood. They are Catherine (bap Southwell, Notts. 16 Feb 1606/07), Elizabeth (bap Southwell 15 Jan 1608/09), John (bap Southwell 15 Apr 1610), Anna (bap Cropwell Bishop, Notts. 10 Dec 1611), Mary (bap Cropwell Bishop 25 mar 1615), and Humphrey (bap Cropwell Bishop 25 Jan 1616/17). The 7th child, Sara, was bap and bur in 1620 in Cropwell Bishop. I believe some of these children immigrated to the Massachusetts Bay Colony and Piscataqua Plantation in the 1630's, and of those who came some returned to England. Their father, Humphrey, matriculated Cambridge University about 1597 and was later the clerk of Cropwell Bishop, having been ordained in York Diocese. My goal is to discover if anyone has traced ancestry to this family and may know who (or if) these children married. I believe Catherine may have marri ed my Edward STARBUCK either in England or Dover, NH in the mid-1630's.

ADDRESS: 1848 Ashland Rd., Ceresco, NE 68017
SURNAMES: REYNOLDS, BURNETT
QUERY: I have hit a road block in my Burnett Family research. My 6XG-GF was named William Reynolds Burnett and was born about 1706 in New Kent/Hanover County, Virginia. From his name, I have assumed he was named for a Grandfather or perhaps an Uncle? William died about 1774. His Father was Edward Burnett and his Mother is not known.

I apologize if I have wasted your time, but if you have any info., or can point me in a new direction to research, I would appreciate it.

Thank you, Peggy

QUERY: My late mother was a Reynolds, born in 1917 in Hertfordshire, UK. I’ve traced her relatives back to Springfield in Essex and back further to Cottingham in Northamptonshire, and have found some of the family who moved across to the USA, notably Chicago. Does anyone link to these family trees?
Regards,
Chris
