He was married to Almira PERSONS (daughter of Uriah Jr. PERSONS) on 8 Jan 1833. Almira PERSONS was born on 4 Nov 1812 in Connecticut. She died on 6 Oct 1897. Clark Rogers REYNOLDS and Almira PERSONS had the following children:

QUERY: Seeking information on WESLEY W. REYNOLDS, my ggrandfather. I have original copies of two of his Civil War muster documents.
The first states that he was mustered as a private into the 17 Cal. KY, a detachment of U.S. Vols. in Russellville, KY, on Dec. 3, 1864. It states his birthplace as Illinois, his age as 21 and his occupation as a farmer. He enlisted in Hopkinsville, KY, and was credited in Christian County, KY 2nd (possibly 22nd) Dist.
The second, dated April 25, 1865, states that he was born in Christian Co, KY and his age as 24. The rest of the information is the same. Both of these documents have been scanned and I will share with anyone interested.
The following is the information I have from my late mother, but I am not sure of its accuracy.
WESLEY W. REYNOLDS, b. April 12, 1840, in KY, d. Jan. 15, 1904, in KY. Married MARGARET SUE MORELAND, b. August 4, 1844, in KY, d. Aug. 1, 1919, in KY. Issue: JOHN WILLIAM REYNOLDS.
JOHN WILLIAM REYNOLDS, b. Feb. 4, 1868 in KY, d. Sept. 8, 1933 in Vinson, OK. Married 1st, LURISSA BROWN, b. July 13, 1867 in KY, d. Sept. 17, 1945, in Bedias, TX. Issue: ROY ALVIN REYNOLDS, ADRIAN REYNOLDS, d. in infancy, EUNICE HALLEY REYNOLDS, LILLIAN PEARL REYNOLDS (my mother. They were listed as living in Denton Co, TX, in the 1900 Census, but had moved to Vinson, OK, by December 10, 1901, the birthdate of daughter Lillian. John William and Lurissa divorced (date unknown) and he married a second time but I have no information on his second wife.

QUERY: I have an unusual task before me. My great grandfather, Josiah S. Reynolds, was born in 1860 in Virginia and died in Chatham County in 1942. His father and grandfather were confederates in the Civil War and owned a great deal of property.
The "problem" is that my rebellious gg grandfather married a woman (Florence Williams-domestic) who was Indian and black (about 1880). His parents, in blind rage, removed their names from his birth records and disowned him.
My GGgrandfather amassed a fortune on his own and has left a sizable bit of property to be divided up among all surviving heirs.
I, however, want to find out who his parents were to finish that end of my family tree.
ANY help would be appreciated.

James Wellington Reynolds married a Marry E. Catlin on 12/27/1882 in Minnasota Lake, Faribault County, Minnasota.
I have no information about James between these two dates except the 1880 US Census where a James W. Reynolds was a farm hand on a nearby farm.
Rumer has it that the family is Scots/Irish. It is also rumered that the family came to MN through IA.
Two generations of fractured family is making this task extreamly dificult. Any help will be greatly accepted.

Descendant lines included Ritter, Purvis, Maness. This book was then available from Dewitt Glasgow, 40431 Carmelita Ct., Fremont CA. There was also a phone number given. That number and that address do not now belong to Dewitt Glasgow. The long-distance operation also found the same name in another town in CA, but it was not the Dewitt I am looking for. QUERY: I am looking for any information on a WILLIAM REYNOLDS, who was born July 9, 1780 in Guilford County North Carolina. He is reported to be the son of WILLIAN REYNOLDS and ANN HUTTON.
This William Reynolds is supposed to have married (1st) a RHODA DAY, daughter of Richard Day and Deborah, in abt. 1814 in Guilford County North Carolina.
William's 2nd wife is reported as being NANCY CLAYTON, they were married 28 SEP 1825 in Guilford Co., North Carolina, and they later moved to Hendricks County, Indiana.
William and Rhoda supposedly had 3 children,
1. Lewis b. Aug 3, 1808, Guilford County, North Carolina, m. Mary Pierce/Pearce, daughter of Daniel Pierce/Pearce and Jane (?)
2. Emsley b. Jan. 12, 1815 Guilford County, North Carolina, m. (1st) Rebecca Wells, Nov. 15, 1837, daughter of Benjamin Wells and Dorcas Barker; m. (2nd) Anna (Moody) Clayton Dec. 19, 1844, daughter of Thomas Moody and Thankful (?).
3. Deborah
I suspect that my line follows Lewis Reynolds through his son William S. Reynolds who married Sarah Haughey/Huey, but as of this date I have not found any provable documentation, or any other information on these individuals.
If you could provide any information or any type of lead as to where I could find information on this particular line I would be very grateful.

QUERY: I am searching for *any* information about George Augustus REYNOLDS, born 06 August 1866 in New York (state). He married Lillian VANMARTER bet. 1891 - 1892, probably in Trenton, Mercer Co., New Jersey. They had three children:
1) Lillibell Kay REYNOLDS b. 23 October 1893 in Trenton, NJ md. Walter Kirby JOHNSON. She d. 31 January 1976 in Trenton, NJ. They had 11 children.
2) George Augustus REYNOLDS Jr. b. 20 July 1895 in Trenton, NJ md. "Helen". He d. May 1987 Princeton, Mercer Co., NJ. They had at least one son, Donald.
3) William Henry REYNOLDS b. 27 June 1906 in Trenton, NJ md. 1st Ethel (Unknown) and 2nd Evelyn ROTH d. 1998. He had a son, William Jr. with his first wife.
George Augustus Sr.'s parents are unknown but were likely born NY (from 1900 & 1920 census). He had several siblings--and it is possible some of them are "half-siblings" or even "false leads" as siblings:
1) William Henry REYNOLDS b. October 1850 md. "Josephine" and d. Elizabeth, NJ. He indicates in 1880 census his parents were born in PA and in 1900 says father was born NY and mother NJ.
2) Isabel Leviccia REYNOLDS HESS b. 1858 md. Benjamin G. HESS and possibly d. Elizabeth, NJ. She maintains father born NY and mother born PA.
3) Charles T. REYNOLDS b. 03 September 1862 md. "Lottie G." He maintains father born NY and mother born PA.
4) Margaret REYNOLDS b. Abt. 1864 d. Dec 1890 unmarried
5) Clara REYNOLDS b. Bet. 1871 - 1872 d. March 1896 unmarried
Family lore about him says the following: "He was a retired sea captain (in the 1850s) of a clipper ship and owned a ship building-yard in NY (CT according to Bruce Johnson) possibly in a location called "Reynolds Channel". During a routine inspection of a ship being built, he fell through the first floor deck (hull) and broke his neck--killed instantly--in 1869. He was also a member of the 32nd Degree Masons. His wife thought the Masons wanted to take her children away from her (actually they just wanted to send them away to school), so in the middle of the night they moved from New York to Trenton, NJ."
Additional family lore as told by his sister Isabel (who lived to be 100) says "Isabel said her mother was 'raised by President William Henry Harrison and that he was her (Isabel's) Uncle Bill'. She also owned a pump organ and grand piano allegedly from the Whitehouse, items that had purportedly been owned by President Benjamin Harrison.
Does anyone have any information or leads about any of these REYNOLDS individuals or their spouses? Do any of these family myths ring a bell with you? Any assistance provided is greatly appreciated, and I am happy to share what I've found to date on this family. I do have a few censuses entries from 1880-1920 on some of these individuals, as well as some city directory listings, but not enough to learn who George Sr.'s parents were.

QUERY: Searching for the parents of Tilmon Reynolds, b. 1803, place unknown (thought to be South Carolina.) Tilmon was married to Elizabeth Moore, daughter of William H. Moore, in 1932 in Forsyth, Monroe County, Georgia. It is not known if Tilmon was living in Georgia prior to his marriage as it was then Cherokee Lands up to 1933. Tilmon and Elizabeth left Forsyth and by 1850 were in Troup County Georgia as they are on the census there with their children. The eldest daughter, Elizabeth, shows as married to Andrew Mobley. She being 18 and Andrew 19.
Tilmon Reynolds fought in the Creek Indian War of 1836 and received a land patent for his participation in the war. Tilmon moved his family to Randolph County Alabama and his land patent was issued in 1859 in Randolph County. Tilmon later moved back to Troup County Georgia and died there.
There is also a William Reynolds on the 1850 Troup County census with Tilmon. It is unknown at this time if this may be Tilmons brother.
I would appreciate any help that you may have or a connection to Tilmon. Thank you.

QUERY: I'm looking for information on Willis Reynolds and Nancy Long Reynolds. Willis and Nancy were born in North Carolina around 1810. Nancy Long was born in Ashe County, N. C. and Willis was born, I think, in Montgomery County, N. C.
Both moved to Owen County, Indiana. I'm not sure about the date for Willis, but it is believed that Nancy moved in 1838. They had seven children in Owen County, Indiana. Willis was a preacher in the Church of the Brethren. The family moved to Guthrie County, Iowa. Willis died in 1773; Nancy died in 1887 (?).
Nancy's father is believed to be Benjamin Long, son of my g,g,g,g grandfather John Long, Sr. I'm not sure of the name for Benjamin Long's wife and mother of Nancy Long Reynolds.
